Boys & Girls Club of the Big Pines: Longview

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Pines: Longview is a community-based organization that provides young people with a fun, safe and constructive after-school environment. The Club, which annually services over 400 children and is open to all youth ages 6-18, has a special focus on children from challenging or disadvantaged circumstances.

We keep our dues low to allow all families to have the benefit of a safe and positive place for their children. Through a system of informal guidance, youth development staff form strong bonds with young people and help them make smart choices in life. Volunteers are used in every aspect of our program: mentors, coaches, educators, or just an additional caring adult.

The Club is governed by a Board of Directors made up of local business men and women that believe in our mission, which is to inspire and enable young people and help them to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

In 2011, the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Pines: Longview adopted the Formula for Impact - a research-based theory of change that describes how we can exponentially increase our impact on the lives of young people.Formula for Impact is based on five key elements for positive youth development:

In 2011, the Board also established its Great Futures Vision:

Provide a world-class Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.

The Boys & Girls Club Code:

Boys & Girls Clubs provide young people with:
