The Brattleboro School of Dance was founded in 1976 by Kathleen Keller who recognized the need in the community for a dance center that would provide a wide variety or classes for both adults and children.
Consistent with her philosophy, Ms. Keller and the school’s staff have worked to create a friendly, supportive atmosphere where anyone who wishes to dance is encouraged to do so. The school strongly believes that dance can be a vital aspect in the lives of both men and women, whether they wish to enjoy its benefits as an avocation or to pursue a career in dance. The school also believes that students learn most effectively when presented with maximum challenge and support and when the artistry and fun of dance is not forgotten.
