Brenner Income Tax Centers, Inc. (“BRENNER INCOME TAX CENTERS”) is the oldest privately owned ALL-YEAR income tax preparation business in the United States. It was established in 1941 by DAVID S. BRENNER, C.P.A. and his wife BETTY (“Becky”) BRENNER doing business as the TAX CENTER, INC. Being the first of its kind it was, and still is, at the forefront of the reputable low cost-volume Income Tax Preparation industry.

David was a creative entrepreneur – a man of warmth, vision and inspiration. As a C.P.A. , he was also a theatrical business manager. He inspired and advocated many creative people from the uncertain outset of their ideas to their tremendously successful careers. David loved to talk and talk with his clients – like all good tax advisors should.

David was a family man. His wife “Becky” was always at his side. To keep Becky happy, while David talked to his clients, he asked Becky to record the time, determine the fee, and type up a bill. The client was happy to receive David’s expert advice, and Becky was happy. Becky loved to count and account for the money. This was a marriage made in Heaven.

David and Becky had two sons, Robert and William. As they grew, they both became involved in the tax preparation business; standing in front of the tax office handing out flyers (back then it was $2.00 and up”), filing, preparing federal, State and City tax returns, managing their own Brenner Income Tax office, getting married and then husband and wife operating a Brenner Income Tax office. The wife usually collected the money.

“THE NEW GUARD”
BRENNER INCOME TAX CENTERS operates primarily in upstate New York in Sullivan and Ulster Counties. It is owned by William A. Brenner (David and Becky’s son) with the main open All-Year Office in Grahamsville, in Sullivan County, New York.


BRENNER INCOME TAX CENTERS, and its predecessor Brenner Family owned, operated and supervised income tax preparation services, in business since 1941 (as early as if not earlier than H&R Block which started in Kansas City) is now celebrating its 74th Anniversary in the Income Tax Preparation business.
