What makes a place interesting? That place you can't wait to get back to? That makes you homesick?

It might be the retro movie theater, eccentric thrift store, local music scene, colorful farmer's market, quaint park, or memorable coffee house that causes you to remember one place as better than another. However, if we were to dig a little deeper, we would realize that it's really the people that brought all those nice places about, that draw us back to a certain town or city. They created something unique and let us participate in the process, perhaps we even became friends with them and shared a few ideas.
