Bridgeport Correctional Center is a high-security state jail for men in Bridgeport, CT. It was built in and received its first inmates in 1958. It contains both pre-trial defendants for the courts of Ansonia, Derby, Milford, Bridgeport, Danbury, Norwalk and Stamford and sentenced offenders.HistoryThe original building on the current prison campus was built in 1958. In 1974, A new addition was opened and the original building was turned over to the Bridgeport courts as judge's chambers and housing for pre-trial detainees.
