More about Brinkleyville Hunt Club

Brinkleyville Hunt Club was started formally in 1971 when a group of men decided to pursue their love of deer hunting with dogs on a regular basis. If their was one driving force it would have to have been Mr. Will Eason; he and his family, friends and neighbors started the club by renting a few parcels of land with a clubhouse that was way older than them.

Today, 40 plus years later Brinkleyville Hunt Club is thriving. With sixty members, families and a large number of guests each year, the club offers not only hunting and fishing, but 7000 acres of land to enjoy target-shooting, horseback riding, four-wheeling and other outdoor activities. A number of members grew up hunting the lands close to Brinkleyville NC.

The club is incorporated as a non-profit organization with a considerable waiting list to join. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable, safe place to hunt and socialize. Our bylaws ensure safety and respect for our members, guests and neighbors, and all NC regulations are strictly enforced.

All of our property is located in Halifax County. Halifax is consistently one of the top counties in the harvest of deer and turkey in the state. The area provides great small game, as well as duck and turkey hunting. Our main clubhouse is located south of Brinkleyville off highway 48.

The clubhouse provides 4000 square feet of comfortable accommodations. Recently renovated, with new cypress siding inside and out, central heat and air, plus newly tiled showers and kitchen. It also boasts a dining table that will seat 25 or more members. Eight bunkrooms provide sleeping accommodations for 30 or more.

In 2013 our neighboring club, Little Fishing Creek merged with Brinkleyville adding over a dozen experienced, long time dog hunters and dog men along with 2500 plus acres of prime deer hunting land. Little Fishing Creek hunting club started in 1979 and raised several generations of hunters who respect and enjoy the outdoors. This merger also added a second clubhouse sleeping 20 or more which will provide additional facilities for our growing club. Leases, both annual and long term, provide close to 7000 acres of land. Plenty of room to dog-hunt and still have ample room for those members who only still hunt.

Dog-hunts are every Saturday and many Wednesdays and Fridays of the season. Our buck management system established several years ago has enabled us to take more mature “trophies”. All game is registered with the state at the clubhouse.

Brinkleyville Hunt Club has come a long way in the last 42 years, several generations of families and many individuals have enjoyed the opportunity and privilege, the outdoors provides. We would enjoy meeting you in early December at our fund raising dinner/raffle or our annual dog trials or fall trail ride to benefit autism. You will have a good time.
