At Broken Box Ranch, Jerry Maltby knows that crossbreeding cattle, especially with Charolais, pays. Since the 1950's, the Maltby family have been breeding cattle. In 1962, Broken Box Ranch began using the Charolais breed, with great success.

Broken Box Ranch's premier breed of Charolais Bulls and Females are available at the various participating sales, or at our ranch at private treaty. All of the cattle at Broken Box Ranch must meet Jerry's high standards for performance, marketability, and beef production.

Broken Box Ranch also offers customized finishing services at its feedlot. Feeding rice straw to almond hulls and from apple or tomato pumice to rice bran and corn stover, with programs for feeding young and mature animals. Broken Box Ranch also offers breeding services. Broken Box also fills a need with their conventional and organic rice straw.
