Brook Road Pottery Apartment and Studio Vacation Rental

This rustic, handcrafted saltbox house is a 1 bedroom apartment on the second floor located in rural Barryville, NY (Sullivan Co.), only a 2 hr drive (97mi.) from the heart of NYC.

On the first floor there is a fully equipped pottery studio to rent for experienced potters only. The house shares a secluded 3-acre property with the owner’s residence (unoccupied at time of your stay) and overlooks an all-year-round running brook perfect for sunbathing and cooling off.

The apt is completely furnished with bed linens and towels, as well as a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your most delicious meals. The cedar-lined bathroom has a wonderful claw-foot tub/shower and antique pedestal sink. The cozy bedroom sleeps a queen-sized bed, and the futon couch in the living room can be converted to sleep two.

The living room is flooded with sunlight during the day where you can use any of the three large ceiling fans to circulate air throughout to stay cool. At night it gets chilly so please enjoy using our very efficient 84,000btu Waterford wood burning stove. Two decks and an outdoor seating area allow you to enjoy the beautiful wooded landscape and the calming "white noise" that continually comes from Halfway Brook. Cable TV, DSL internet and 24/7 long distance calling is also included.

All major Canoe Liveries for the Delaware River are within few minutes of the apartment. Biking, hiking, lake and river swimming are all there waiting for you to enjoy.

Arts and Cultural events abound in locations 20- 50minutes from the Brook Road Pottery Apt.

The renowned Bethel Woods Summer Concert Series in Bethel, NY (where the 1st Woodstock Festival took place) happens only 25minutes away up Rt 55. www.bethelwoodscenter.org

**Optional- Pottery Studio can be rented if the person renting it is an experienced (knows about working and firing kilns, use of materials and equipment in a pottery studio. contacting the owner, personally by phone will be necessary. The rental fee is $100 per week or $375 per month (not including firing and kiln fees). The studio is over 500sq.ft with 4 kick wheels (non-electric) and 2kilns: indoors- a cone 10 firing kiln.
