Brown's Root Beer & Sandwich Shop

Brown's Root Beer and Sandwich Shop is in South Lyon, Michigan. It dates back to 1960 when Max and Nellie Brown opened it as an A&W Drive-In. Ed Brown purchased the restaurant from his parents in 1978. In 1984, he dropped the franchised and re-named it. The menu was kept very similiar. He added a dining room to increase the seating capacity. In 2010, Brown's celebrated 50 years. Ed Brown, second generation owner, announced he will retire in October of 2016. At that time, he will close the chapter on 56 years of serving up coney dogs and root beer.
