Homeward Bound

Professional, experienced, Certified Housing Counselors and Wealth Coaches are trusted advisers to those seeking to create wealth, obtain homeownership, to save their home or refinance, renters and entrepreneurs. Consumers and Entrepreneurs have access to workshops and trainings that include financial fitness, credit improvement, money management along with housing counseling and financial coaching.

Building the Future

BHO builds affordable, low maintenance, low energy cost, innovative, attractive, ‘Green’ homes. The first house was completed in 2013. Using superior building materials, stone coated metal roofing system, solar water heaters, and energy efficient windows, hardwood cabinets with hard surface counter tops, low flow plumbing, and tiled bathrooms. BHO builds a superior, low maintenance, low energy usage, and high value affordable home for the Workforce of this region.

Home Preservation Team (HPT)

HPT is a community-based volunteer effort, to reduce substandard housing among the very low-income elderly and disabled homeowners in Brunswick County. HPT uses teams of volunteers to provide labor along with donated materials to complete minor and moderate repairs. This is an effort to improve the overall living conditions of the residents. Home SAFE and the Brunswick Blitz are 2020 Initiatives to eradicate substandard housing in Brunswick County.

Neighborhood Coalition (NHC)

Neighborhood Coalitions Services provides facilitation, capacity building training, and fiscal support to grassroots organizations in Brunswick and Columbus Counties and to a lesser extent Bladen and Pender Counties. NHC advocates and promotes citizen led community development. BHO works in concert with the communities to identify community and individual assets; complete assessments; develop asset maps; and build community plans. Using these community plans, we support the local NHC to implement the plan. The goal: to ensure lasting and long-range impact through a developed Neighborhood Association that will continue to address the current and future needs and issues their communities
