More about Bryan Jackson Music Festival

On October 30th 2013, tragedy struck the Treasure Coast music scene leaving it’s musicians and music fans saddened and confused. 26 year old Bryan Jackson, bassist of the band Ghost Cat, was killed in a head on collision caused by a drunk driver. The band was returning from a show in Lake Worth when the driver drove his truck head on into the band's SUV, killing Bryan and seriously injuring two other band members.

Bryan was one of the most positive and funniest of the Treasure Coast music scene. He had an out going personality and was a strong influence on the people in his life. He always brought out the best in his friends with his mellow attitude, funny jokes and great laugh. He was an extremely talented musician, a pizza connoisseur and a Star Wars historian. Prior to playing in Ghost Cat with John Henderson, Karsten Andersen and Shane O’Brian, he also played with his long time friend, Dennis Walsh, in The Sweet Escape. Bryan left behind his parents, younger brother, extended family and every musician on the Treasure Coast. The town was simply broken.

The last album Bryan recorded with his fellow Ghost Cats, Weathered Light, was recently released online and on vinyl.

In January of 2014 fueled by tragedy and emotion, 20 local bands made up of Bryan's close friends, put together a memorial show to celebrate the life of Bryan. Because of it's positive outcome and success, the Bryan Jackson Music Festival was born.

May the Force be with you. Never Spaghett.
