What We Do….

Revolving Loan Fund – The RC&D Council has loaned over $400,000 to 15 borrowers, with 45-50 jobs created, expanded or saved. Loans are made at 4% interest, and 1 job per $15,000 loaned. The RC&D would welcome donations specific to helping us grow our fund for business development.

Ohio Mineland Partnership – The RC&D provides administrative support and financial management for this organization. Their focus is to continue support for reclamation and wise use of abandoned minelands, and improved water quality in impacted streams and watersheds from mine drainage problems. Donations could be made to support this organization.

Rural Fire Protection – The RC&D Council has assisted township trustees and volunteer fire departments in the 9-county region to install dry fire hydrants in strategic locations. Over 200 dry hydrants have been installed. Currently, a need exists to provide assistance to the counties to repair, refurbish or replace dry hydrants to bring them back to full functioning capacity.

RC&D Endowment Fund with Marietta Community Foundation – The RC&D Council established an endowment fund to provide small grants to counties in the RC&D area. The goal is for grant recipients to use these funds as a local match to attract other funds. Nine projects valued at over $250,000 have been completed within the program.

Assist Local Units of Government – The RC&D Council provides assistance to local units of government, communities and groups to facilitate and conduct public meetings covering a variety of issues and topics.

Work-Study Position with Marietta College – The RC&D office provides training/work experience for students at Marietta College. Students in Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources, and Mass Media are a fit for learning opportunities from the RC&D office.

Grant Management – The RC&D cooperates and works with numerous funding agencies and groups to manage and administer project grants for very reasonable administrative costs. We provide financial review certification to show that fund integrity was followed.
