Buckham Memorial Library

Buckham Memorial Library strives to educate, enrich, and empower every person in our community by creating and promoting easy access to a vast array of ideas and information, and by supporting an informed citizenry, life-long learning, and love of reading.

The Faribault Public Library as a tax supported institution dates from 1897, when it was housed in the City Hall building. Mrs. Anna Buckham gave the Thomas Scott Buckham Memorial Library building to the City of Faribault in memory of her husband. The cornerstone was laid in September of 1929, and dedication of the building took place on July 20, 1930.

Buckham Memorial Library is a department of the City of Faribault. Rice County contributes to the operating budget for township users. Buckham Memorial Library is a member of the Southeastern Libraries Cooperating (SELCO) Regional Library System.
