Build A Gun, Llc

The idea of Build A Gun started one day when I was at one of the big gun stores in Columbus Ohio. While I was there a store employee sold a gun to a customer that stated they needed a gun to protect themselves because someone was outside of their window the night before. The customer told the employee that they didn't what to know anything about the gun, they just wanted the employee to load the gun and put in the box so they could protect themselves. This customer left the store with no knowledge or education about the firearm they had just purchased. After the customer left the store, I asked the employee if they felt is was appropriate to sell a loaded firearm to someone with no knowledge or education about the operation of the firearm. I was told that a sell is a sell, they worked on commission. I felt the store valued a sell more then the safety of the customer/community.

Within a week of the incident above, I was working on one my AR 15 and needed a small part that cost $0.99. I called the majority of gun stores within a 20 miles radius, none of them had the part. I paid over $5.00 to order the part and then had to wait a week to receive the part.

After reflecting upon the two instances occurring in a short time period, I decided to talk to my wife about fulfilling my lifelong dream of opening a gun store. We decided to open a responsible gun store that focused on the education of our customers, while trying to carrying inventory that customers need but do not have to order. Build A Gun LLC was born.
