Located on an urban-styled farm outside of Charleston, SC, Teresa Gooden’s habit of keeping things small, slow and simple led to reviving the art of making culinary sea salt.

Situated in McClellanville, Gooden & her small team gather pristine water sourced just minutes from downtown Charleston in Cape Romain, a protected Class 1 Wilderness Area and arguably the cleanest water on the eastern seaboard of the US.

Utilizing primarily solar energy to evaporate the water, this exceptional line of culinary sea salts is carefully crafted to ensure purity and distinction. From water collection to evaporation, packing & shipping, everything is done by hand and within five miles of the water source.

Founded in 2012, Bulls Bay Saltworks became the first operational salt producer in South Carolina since the Civil War, when the USS James Chambers destroyed the final saltern at Palmetto Point Bulls Bay on February 25, 1865.

Salt is the worlds’ oldest and simplest ingredient – but not all salts are created equally. Bulls Bay Sea Salt lends a clean, pure taste to your dishes, retaining natural minerals and void of added ingredients.
