Burlington Community Garden

The community of Burlington have taken steps towards the construction of an agricultural center designed to benefit the children and community of Burlington. In 2014 we are hoping to provide 20 400 square foot gardening plots for lease to residents, school gardens and a volunteer garden growing produce for the Burlington Food Pantry. This agricultural initiative supports the Department of Education Science curriculum; Town efforts to encourage composting, water conservation and home use reduction of chemical products; and addresses a growing residential need for gardening space for the growing portion of our population living in apartments, condominiums, public housing and assisted living facilities. The current leasable plots and the volunteer garden will be behind Francis Wyman Elementary School. When we run out of space here, we will expand in other sites around town.
