This is the official Facebook page of the Butler County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) in Hamilton, Ohio. This page was created to provide our citizens and users access to information about the Sheriff's Office. We encourage two way communication using social media. This page is monitored by the BCSO, but not on a 24/7 basis. Before posting on this page, please review these terms: A posting on this page constitutes acceptance of these terms. Do not use this page to report a crime or for any inquiry that requires an immediate response.

If you post information related to a crime on this page, you may be placing yourself in the position of becoming a witness to a crime and subject yourself to subpoena. "Liking" between the Butler County Sheriff's Office and another Facebook page or Facebook content does not indicate endorsement of that user's actions or comments.

Comments posted by others on BCSO's Facebook page(s) are not to be considered the opinion of the Sheriff's Office; nor does BCSO endorse any third-party comments on this page. BCSO reserves the right to remove and/or block anyone who posts inappropriate material as determined by BCSO. The Posting and Takedown Terms do not allow posting of photos or videos by anyone other than authorized members of the Sheriff's Office.

BCSO welcomes a person's right to express his/her opinion and encourages posters to keep comments related to content on this page.

An internet troll is someone who posts inflammatory extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion. Any person engaged in "trolling" on this or any of the BCSO social media page will be banned immediately, and the comments removed.

BCSO WILL REMOVE any comments that are inappropriate or offensive, including comments that: defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or violate the legal rights of others, including racism, hatred, slander, threats, obscenity, threats of violence, vulgarity, spam or advertisements, comments that have personal information about another person or that violate a person's privacy including copyrighted material that belongs to another person, or comments that contain links to inappropriate websites clearly off topic.
