Cabot Senior Citizens Center

The primary goal of the Lonoke County Council on Aging, Inc. is to provide comprehensive and coordinated services that help older people live as independently as possible in the environment of their choosing. (Services are as follows:)

Congregate meals: This service provides a nutritious meal (5) five days per week in our four centers in Lonoke County (Cabot, Lonoke, England and Carlisle) and Prairie County (Des Arc). We serve clients 60 and over. (We serve approximately 120 congregate meals per day).

Home Delivered Meals: These meals are for home bound clients that are unable to go to the centers and have no one who can prepare a meal for them. (The meals are the same type meal that is served at the centers.) Again we are limited by funds: there is a need for more home delivered meals in Lonoke County. These meals are provided (5) five days a week, one on holidays and two on weekends, if the client qualifies. They are assessed for continuing services. (We serve approximately 150 home deliveries per day).

Transportation: Many of our clients do not have a car and we are their only means of transportation to doctors’ appointments, grocery shopping, social services and the nutrition centers. Transportation is provided (5) five days per week as funds will allow within the city limits. (We serve approximately 30 clients on a daily basis.)

Socialization: This service provides fellowship and activities for the participants. Activities are planned daily at each site, (Cabot, Lonoke, England, Carlisle, and Des Arc (5) five days a week). There are also trips planned, dances and other social activities away from the centers. (We serve approximately 130 clients per day).





Funding: Lonoke County Council on Aging, Inc. is supported by Local, State and Federal funds. The council gratefully acknowledges the community support, which is used for match money to secure these resources.
