Project Description and Service Approach
The 45-bed residential substance abuse program utilizes a social model based on the 12-step program and addresses each client’s comprehensive needs. Research supports the efficacy of the social model particularly with indigent populations, in which abstinence from alcohol and other substances is reinforced by peer-support and expectations of personal responsibility. The 12-step model provides a basis for the program but without an explicitly Christian context, providing a broad spiritual component inclusive of various faiths.
