More about Café on A / Acuña Gallery and Cultural Center

We have been an sanctuary for many lives in the Downtown Oxnard Area for about 15 years. Our main reason for being here is for one reason and one reason only: UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
We give that UNCONDITIONAL LOVE in so many ways.
We want to spread love through areas like: art, culture, community awareness, activism, outreach, social justice, community engagement, and community dialogue.
We have been the home to dozens upon dozens of broken souls. Invididuals who walk into the door, are welcomed with open arms and we let them know that Café on A is their house; as long as they don’t come in tripping, on drugs, drinking alcohol, and disrespecting the center and any individuals in it.
Every Friday at 4pm we have our KEYS/Rainbow Coalition meetings which consist of community members, artists, youth, college students, event planners, public officials, mentors, teachers, counselors, community activists, and all others that are left out. Our meetings are for collaborations, networking, open conversations, and spreading love at as many places that are possible.

The Café on A / Acuña Gallery and Cultural Center is an educational, artistic, and cultural center dedicated to promoting communication, awareness, and community by honoring the inherent need of giving and sharing creative instincts. We offer a wide variety of cultural art programs for all ages, which focus on building a sustainable, vibrant community that is sensitive to the diverse and creative instincts of us all.

We’ve helped over 1575 at-risk youth overcome the psychological traumas of poverty and familial dysfunction through a loving, structured transformational program known as "The K.E.Y.S. Leadership Academy" (Keys for Empowering Youth in the Society). We are also known for our world-class Rudy F. Acuña Art Gallery, whose exhibitions have consistently focused on---but are never limited to---the development of the "Chicano Art Movement" in the United States.
