Here's a little history of the property where Cagliero Ranch Nursery now exists. This land, along with a much larger surrounding area, was purchased in the late 1950's by the Cagliero brothers. They ranched the land, growing alfalfa and oat hay which they sold to local dairy men and people with livestock. The sign advertising their ranch now hangs above the front entrance inside the barn. Eventually, the Cagliero brothers retired and much of the land was sold, but the portion with the barn and outbuildings was kept by Louis Cagliero, one of the brothers. Eventually, the land was passed down to Joe Cagliero, who made the necessary renovations and opened Cagliero Ranch Nursery there in 2003. Most of the old farm equipment you see around the nursery was used by the Cagliero brothers in their ranching days.
