Thank you for visiting Cakes by Kasarda and seeking a professional pastry chef to create a vital piece to your special occasion.
I have been working in the Pastry Arts for more than 15 years, and received my degree from Johnson & Wales University in 2003.
In 1995, I started my culinary career at the Sweet Heart Market as a baker and cake decorator. In 1999, I joined the Century Club, a private country club located in upstate New York, as the lead pastry chef. It was here I realized I had a love for creating unique and exquisite pastries.
A year or two later, I decided to pursue a degree in the pastry arts at Johnson & Wales University at the former Charleston, SC campus. While pursuing my education at Johnson & Wales, I gained valuable experience at the Westin Resort and the Café at Wexford, both located on the resort island of Hilton Head.
Upon graduation, I honed my skills at Kaminsky's dessert café, a local Charleston favorite for curing the sweet tooth. In the Fall of 2004, I was asked to join the opening pastry team for The Sanctuary hotel, located on Kiawah Island Resort. Now, I am able to bring my experience, passion and creativity to you.
Sincerely,
Tammy Kasarda-Pilch
