More about Calvary Baptist Church

Calvary Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist church in Sterling, Colorado. We use the King James Version of the Bible in all Sunday school classes and from the pulpit. We do not condone contemporary Christian music, but instead use traditional hymns and southern gospel music in their worship services. Many Christians believe that the practice of believing that one kind of Christian music over another is legalism. Legalism is the act of attempting to please a God through the following of rules. It is a practice used in brainwashing. It, in many ways, goes against the teaching of Jesus throughout the bible.

Outreach is the focus of Calvary Baptist. We believe in one-on-one missionary work to gain new converts and are equipped through a missionary training course called "Operation GO." Another important aspect of the church's outreach is the bus ministry. There they are given the gospel through Sunday school and Junior Church.
Calvary Baptist Church believes that tomorrow's future begins with the teaching and training of today's youth. The youth ministry has a fervent desire to see young people give their hearts to Christ and to surrender to God's will in every aspect of their lives. The church's weekly services are filled with soul-stirring music which prepares the heart for the preaching of God's Word. The pastor is a fervent Bible preacher. The church believes that the Bible is the standard for conduct in a sin-filled world and takes seriously its command to come out of the world and live a separated life. It is the work of the church to strive to practice a godly walk and not compromise with the ecumenical movement or any other organization which seeks to take down the foundations of the faith. The church believes that God has left the church as His organization for propagating the gospel to a lost world.
