Calvary Chapel of the Cumberland Valley

Sundays - 10am/ Wednesdays 7p">CCCV is an independent non-denominational Church, but also an affliate of the Calvary Chapel network of Churches (over 1300) located throughout the U.S. and overseas.

The Calvary Chapel network of Churches began in 1965 when God called a man by the name of Chuck Smith to pastor a small 25 member non-denominational Church in Costa Mesa, California. Shortly after assuming his pastoral duties, Pastor Chuck began to sense a burden for the lost generation of "hippies" that he saw on the streets and beaches of Southern California. In response to that burden, he began reaching out to them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, seeing incredible results as large numbers of these lost men and women began to respond to the Gospel message. As they responded, Pastor Chuck began to faithfully disciple them by taking them through the Bible, line-by-line, verse-by-verse, book-by-book. As a result of this work, Pastor Chuuck became a leading figure in what has become known as the "Jesus Movement" of the late 1960's and early 1970's. Out of this movement, Calvary Chapel began to grow at an unprecedented rate and to expand across the country. This growth continues even today of which we are now a part.

Our Fellowship was established in April 2001 when we started as a Sunday evening Bible Study at the Rescue Hose Company Auditorium in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. Attendance quickly grew, and by December of that year, we began holding Sunday morning worship services. In May of 2002 we moved into a facility on the main street of Greencastle, where we met until 2010 when the Lord opened a door for us to purchase our own property 10 miles south in Hagerstown, Maryland. Although by most standards we are a relatively small Church, we believe that the Lord is doing an awesome work in us. We're committed to reaching out to the lost people of our day with the good news of Jesus Christ, and to discipling those who respond to that message, as well as those who God sends to be a part of us, by faithfully teaching them His Word.
