Calvary Chapel Williams (CCW) is a part of the Calvary Chapel Fellowship, a non-denominational group of local church families that began with a ministry to the beach culture in Southern California in the 1960s. Chuck Smith saw a need for Christ among the surfers, homeless, and drug addicts in the beach community. He began simply teaching verse by verse through the bible, and the ministry has grown into a major revival. Today you can find Calvary Chapel ministries virtually around the world.
Calvary Chapel Williams is a typical example of the Calvary Chapel fellowships in that we teach verse by verse through the bible, and our worship service is centered on a contemporary style of music and a relaxed atmosphere.
CCW is also unique amongst Calvary Chapel ministries, in large part due to the small town, rural environment. Secondly, the Grand Canyon greatly affects our culture. When you have the most visited of the Natural Wonders of the World in your backyard, it has to impact you!
CCW has a great core of local families who call this place their church home. They all know each other too well to worry about putting on a façade, and yet they welcome guests from all over the world into the family without hesitation. Hospitality is abundant here!
