What is Living By Grace?

We have chosen “Living by Grace” as our motto to express to the world and to remind ourselves that all we are and all that we do is by the grace of God. We want to be extending that grace to all whom we encounter, not judging, but bearing with and supporting our fellow believers and any who come seeking God.

Rooted in God’s Word

God, in his graciousness, gave us his Word. We view God’s word as central and foundational to Calvary’s growth in faith and the receiving of God’s truth. Because of this priority we promote:

* Hearing God’s Word through faithful preaching and teaching and personal and small group study.
* Mentoring and Discipleship as a natural offering to those younger in age and in faith.
* Building strong families and caring for our youth as the very foundation for growth in faith and maturity.

Growing Together

We are entirely dependent on God’s gracious work to bring about growth, both individually and as a community. We rely not upon our own plans, efforts, or giftedness but wholly upon Christ and His power at work in us. Because of this understanding we promote:

* Joyful and reverent worship, acknowledging our dependence.
* Dependent prayer asking that the Spirit would lead in the life of the Church.
* Weekly communion as a sacrament to strengthen our bond with Christ and to provide assurance of God’s faithfulness and salvation.

Fruitful for God’s Kingdom

As we live by grace our hope and focus are on God’s Kingdom rather that on the kingdoms of this world that all fail and fade in time. With our focus toward building God’s Kingdom, and taking seriously the eternal destiny of men’s souls, we promote:

* Every member ministry where each member is involved in the life and ministry of the church.
* Ministry to the needy, especially single mothers, widows, orphans, and those separated from their immediate family.

Relational Evangelism, Foreign Missions, & Church Planting are to be regular practices, sharing our faith with others and planting churches with our own resources, time, and energy here in the region and abroad.
