The Cambodian Buddhist Society of Connecticut (CBSC) was founded in 1987 and established their first place of worship in Newtown, CT at 145 Boggs Hill Road. In 2009, the CBSC purchased a vacant Union Labor property in Bristol and began renovations to accommodate the growing number of its members and community. Smaller services are still conducted at the Newtown property while the Bristol location is used for major holidays and bigger services. Currently two Buddhist monks reside at the Newtown property while the head Abbot and another monk maintain the Bristol temple. It is the CBSC's purpose to offer religious counseling, community support and temple services for all who seek assistance.
