Camey Elementary was built in 1977. In 1994, a major renovation was completed including the addition of 10 classrooms, a computer lab and art room. Updates to both the interior and exterior of the building were also completed. Camey Elementary received Gold Performance Acknowledgments from the Texas Education Agency in 2006-07 for Commended on Science.
