Camp Riggs Johnston - Elk River Scout Camp

The newest camp to Crater Lake Council this little-known jewel, Riggs Johnston Scout Camp (formerly known as Elk River Scout Camp) lies nestled in the redwoods near Eureka. Camp Riggs Johnston began life as a logging camp belonging to the Carson Lumber Company. Although the original camp was equipped with rail facilities, including an engine house and water tower, few of these relics remain. The present dining hall and kitchen were part of the original facility.
