Camp2Community

Camp2Community is a specially designed enrichment camp tailored to meet the targeted needs of students with disabilities between the ages of 10-16. Students receive explicit instruction on a wide array of topics including social skills, life skills, vocational skills and personal health. Students also work through difficulties that may occur in the middle setting and learn to better advocate for themselves as they progress through the week long curriculum. Soft Skills, as identified by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy, serve as an underlying theme throughout the camps instructional blocks and are carried over in to the fun summer camp adventures, sports and play. In addition to a specialized curriculum developed by over 10 public educators, our campers receive group speech, art and music sessions provided through collaboration with some of Atlanta's top therapists. We focus on better preparing our middle school students for inclusion in the community and on building a frame work for success in their future life goals.
