Campbell is a city in Hunt County, in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 734 at the 2000 census.According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.3sqmi.HistoryThe town was established in 1880 and was named for Postmaster General, and future Texas Governor, Thomas Mitchell Campbell.DemographicsAs of the 2000 census, there were 734 people, 284 households, and 209 families residing in the city. The population density was 320.4 people per square mile (123.8/km²). There were 308 housing units at an average density of 134.4 per square mile (51.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 93.19% White, 0.82% African American, 1.63% Native American, 2.45% from other races, and 1.91% from two or more races.
