About the C.H.O.P.
Who We Are
The Schenectady Campus House of Prayer was established in 2015 as a venue for prayer, worship and intercession. It is a non-profit, faith-based organization with Campus Renewal Ministries. Our vision is to “seek first the kingdom of God” (Matt. 6:33) with our brothers and sisters for the sake of the gospel. As we move toward living out the great commission (Matthew 28:18-19), our desire is to serve as a place for students, campus ministries and the community to gather together as Christ followers to pray, worship, and intercede for college communities, our city and nation.
The Cry for Unity
Daily we cry out for the “oneness” of the body of Christ at the Schenectady Campus House of Prayer. We firmly believe that if the body can come together in humility and commit to know “Christ and Christ crucified” amongst each other, then God will be glorified. This is not to say that we must agree on every matter. For the sake of the gospel of peace, we believe that it is important that the world sees the love, harmony, and unity that we have between each other as the body of Christ and understand that that kind of love is accessible by the grace of God. It will most definitely take the glory of God to achieve this kind of bond in unity, but we as we intercede for this cause, we stand in agreement with the Father that he is the God of all Creation and the creator of diversity.
"The glory that you have given me I have given to them that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me."
John 17:22-23 ESV
