The Canaan Township Fire Department was formed in 2007, when the then Burbank Volunteer Fire Department and the Creston Fire Department combined. This created a 2 station department which covers 27.75 square miles area of northern Wayne and a small part of southern Medina counties. The Canaan Township Fire Department operates as a combination department. We staff Sunday through Saturday during daytime hours and are all volunteer in the evenings.
The Canaan Township Fire Department provides Fire Protection and Investigation, Rescue and Extrication, Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support, Fire Prevention Education, Fire Safety Inspection, and CPR Instruction.
