Cap the Gap for Foster Care-Sullivan County TN

BEGINNINGS
Cap the Gap for Foster Care in Sullivan County was founded in October, 1994, as an outgrowth of a Junior
League of Kingsport project focused on helping to bridge the gap for children in foster care. Cap the Gap is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization, and all contributions to Cap the Gap are tax-deductible. Every dollar donated to Cap the Gap goes directly to meet the needs of a child; the all-volunteer board deducts nothing for administrative costs. Donations may be mailed to 1225 N. We envision a community where all children who have experienced a crisis of parenting have the opportunities and support they need to pursue their dreams and become productive members of our community.

MISSION
Cap the Gap for Foster Care in Sullivan County works to promote the well-being of some of our county’s most vulnerable children. To close the gap between foster kids and their peers, we provide support and resources to them and to their foster families, helping to meet their basic material needs and working to provide social experiences they deserve to enable them to thrive and discover their own resilience and strength so that they may go on to live happy and productive lives.
