Cape Cod Shelter and Domestic Violence Services (CCSDVS) is the only full-time emergency shelter serving victims of domestic violence on the Cape Cod and islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. The safe house operates 24- hours per day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year. CCSDVS is connected to a national network of emergency shelters that coordinates to meet the needs of victims of domestic violence. Clients are referred to CCSDVS through a variety of sources including hospitals, police, community agencies, and a telephone hotline safe-link.

Cape Cod Shelter and Domestic Violence Servcies' mission is to assist and support victims of domestic violence in leaving a violent environment and transitioning to independent living, fully connected to a network of community support with a lifelong safety plan.

Cape Cod Shelter and Domestic Violence Servcies, (CCSDVS), was conceived in 1992 and incorporated in 1994 with the mission, goals and objectives to open a confidential domestic violence shelter on Cape Cod. In 2000, the CCSDVS raised the funds to officially open its doors and provide safe, comprehensive advocacy, education, and support services to the victims of domestic violence staying in this confidential shelter. Since 2000, Cape Cod Shelter and Domestic Violence Services has provided emergency and long-term care to approximately 16,153 women and children victimized by domestic violence. Our holistic approach creates a supportive, nurturing environment that gives clients the skills, strength, time and tools necessary to regain their independence and success over the long-term. Clients stay at our shelter for a few weeks to a few months, until a transitional program with housing or other permanent housing can be found, such as renting a room, moving in with a friend or relative, or obtaining Section 8 housing through the Massachusetts Housing Authority.
