More about Capream Dairy, LLC

We are starting a wholesale only Grade A goat milk Dairy. I have dreamed of owning and operating a dairy since growing up on a cow dairy as a child in northern Indiana. This venture is the realization of a childhood dream, 5 years in the making.
Our small scale Grade A dairy fits in so well with this already equine friendly area. The dairy will operate year-round, seven (7) days per week. The milk will be collected, stored, pasteurized and bottled on site. The dairy will deliver the milk to retail stores. The delivery van will be a refrigerated cargo van, the same size as a family van. The operation of the dairy will be run by the two owners of Capream Dairy, LLC
We are currently milking 13 Oberhasli does. The operational hours of the dairy are approximately 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. The dairy will operate in two existing site-built structures a 20’ x 20’ & 42’ x 24’:
• 20’ x 20’ building: is the milking parlor where the goats are milked.
• 42’ x 24’ building: is divided to house the milk room in the rear of the building which is used for the production of Grade A raw milk for pasteurization housed in a 1950’s 150 gallon stainless refrigerated bulk tank held at 38°. The milk processing area and bottling/capping area and refrigerated walk-in storage room will be housed in the front 21’ x 21’ of the building. The processing area houses the pasteurization equipment, chilling equipment and bottling/capping equipment to process and package and store the pasteurized grade A milk for distribution.
The dairy will be closed to the public. We will be continually working with our northern Arizona Depart of Agriculture Dairy Board Inspector to operate in compliance with regulatory ‘Sanitary Standards’ and ‘Accepted Practices’ to maintain a Grade A dairy classification.
The wholesale day to day operations will have little impact on the area and will be a pioneer in bringing dairy back to Prescott, AZ. We will be following in the footsteps of previous dairies; Prescott Farms Dairy based off Miller Valley Rd./downtown cow dairy circa 1954-1964, when it was sold to Shamrock Dairy and Amador Goat Milk Dairy based in Chino Valley, AZ off HWY 89 in the early 1980’s.
