Institutional Special Needs plans provides coverage to Medicare Advantage (MA) eligible individuals who require or are expected to need the services provided in a long-term care facility for for 90 days or longer.

Long-term care facilities include skilled nursing facility (SNF), a long-term nursing facility (NF), an immediate care facility (ICF) for those with developmental disabilities, or an assisted living facility (ALF).
