Through personal experience I have been in the position of being a child helping my own parent transition from living an independent lifestyle to one that was assisted. I had so many questions and found it challenging to know here to start. I believe this is the case for most individuals with aging parents. It was natural for me to dedicate a great deal of my time to helping people who were in a similar situation to mine.

I have many friends who are older and through those friendships I have gained so much insight as to how the process of transitioning to assisted care can impact a family both financially and emotionally. I am a champion of this cause for many reasons but the reason that stands out is I want to be a trusted advisor for these families. Someone who can handle the sale of a transitioning persons home so that the family can focus on more important things, like making sure their loved one feels comfortable during the transition.

This can be a very exciting time in a Seniors life! I find that after the transition is over and they are settled they feel so much more relaxed and the worry fades. This is also true for their families because they know mom or dad is safe even if they do not need care currently, transitioning prior to needing care makes the situation easier should care be needed down the road.
