Cassie's work in art therapy is deeply threaded with her art practice and her social justice activism; together, these three modes of work constitute one, holistic social justice praxis. Her philosophy of practice is influenced by Relational-Cultural Counseling Theory, which recognizes the impact of personal, community, and environmental relationships on a person's development, health, and well-being. In her art therapy and activist work, she engages a trauma-informed lens, supported by professional certifications in sexual assault crisis intervention, medical advocacy for survivors of sexual assault, support for survivors of domestic violence, and support for LGBTQIA-identified youth and adults. She is committed to anti-racist principles in her work and life.
Cassie currently operates a private practice Art Therapy Studio as a member of the Radical Healing collective in Durham, NC (www.radicalhealing.us). To inquire about services and scheduling, please feel free to call or email Cassie directly.
