Cate Summer Institute

Cate’s teaching philosophy and core mission come together in its innovative one-week residential summer institutes for rising 7th and 8th graders (11-13 years old).
A week devoted to academics, leadership, design thinking, and outdoors, your days will be full of excitement: you will be eating in the dining hall, hiking in the Los Padres National Forest, experiencing our ropes course, and sleeping in dorms overlooking the Pacific.
Learn the ins and outs of the design thinking process and apply its techniques to real world training in the arts, engineering or sciences. You’ll make friends to last a lifetime and build connections with extraordinary faculty committed to experiential education. You'll learn leadership skills to take back home after a summer adventure that you’ll never forget!
