Libraries contribute to a community's sense of self. They can serve as a meeting place to exchange ideas, a venue for community growth and interaction and an avenue to the world at large. Rural communities are notoriously underserved by the types of institutions bigger cities take for granted. Catheys Valley has the opportunity and collective will to build and support a satellite library branch, which will be part of the Mariposa County Library system. We are excited to see this new library blossom and grow in our small, Sierra foothills community.
