At Cavalier Produce
Consistent Quality. At Cavalier Produce we work with premium shippers and growers from across the country to provide you with consistently high quality fruits and vegetables. We receive product at our warehouse seven days a week. This helps us to maintain optimum turnover of our product and enables us to offer you the freshness you deserve and the quality you demand. All product is held at the optimum temperature at our refrigerated facility and delivered on refrigerated trucks to maintain freshness.

Convenient Delivery Schedule. We deliver in your several areas 6 days per week – Monday through Saturday. Providing daily deliveries of fresh produce helps to insure product quality and gives you the flexibility to order what you need, when you need it, thus minimizing produce shrinkage and increasing your profitability. Partial case quantities are available on most items. Let us know your desired delivery time and we will do our very best to accommodate your needs. Our sales office will promptly notify you in the event that our truck is running late due to mechanical difficulties or late product arrivals.

Ordering Convenience. Our sales office is open:
6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
6:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon on Saturday
5:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Orders can also be left on our answering machine after 4:00 p.m. for the next day’s delivery. Need help after hours? Call Desiree on her cell phone at 434-326-6540 if you need our immediate attention.

Price Stability. We feel that price stability is critical in helping you forecast your produce costs for the week. Prices are updated every Friday for the following week (Monday through Saturday). All prices are guaranteed and will not fluctuate throughout the week. Your order guide can be faxed to you every Friday or hand delivered with your order. We will do our best to notify you when an item is experiencing a jump in price or a dip in quality, allowing you time to adjust your menu accordingly.

Specialty Produce. We are constantly expanding our inventory of specialty produce. We currently stock items such as peeled baby carrots with stem, baby squash, pearl onions, salsify, radicchio, Belgian endive, fresh herbs, fingerling potatoes, purple potatoes, mache, edible orchids and more. Each week we fax out our “Specialty Update” to help keep you posted on seasonal items that become available. We are constantly balancing the availability and freshness of specialty items with the demands of our market. If there is an item you would like to have on your menu that we do not stock, let us know and we will be sure to have it on hand for you. Even items that we do not have in stock can normally be brought in for you within 24 hours.

Processed/Pre-Cut Items. We offer a wide variety of pre-cut items – from shredded carrots and salad mixes to fruit salads and peeled potatoes. All processing is done in a Primus Labs inspected and approved facility that complies with stringent HAACP regulations, thus insuring freshness, quality, and food safety. Special requests? Let us know if you need a special cut or mix and we will do our best to meet your needs.

Information. Cavalier Produce will provide you with prompt notification of any product shortages, late arrivals, or quality concerns affecting your order. We strive to avoid these issues as much as possible; however, in the event of a problem we will make every effort to notify you before the delivery arrives at your door.
