At the close of Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus says to His disciples: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (28:18-20).

In Colossians, the Apostle Paul writes: “We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me” (1:28-29).

In light of scriptural passages like these, the Chinese Bible Church of Maryland (CBCM) has for itself one overarching vision: “More Christians, Better Christians” (MCBC).

In line with this, the Youth Department envisions CBCM’s “MCBC” as the goal and desire of our ministry to teenagers.

Put another way, we envision reaching and raising a new generation of disciples in the name of Jesus Christ who will seek to also reach and raise others.

We envision leading people (especially teenagers and their parents!) into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, who will also lead others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

We envision “making disciples who make disciples.”

We labor and toil towards this end, knowing that all authority in heaven and on earth has already been handed over to Christ, thus allowing us to struggle with all of His energy, which is so powerfully at work within us.
