If you have ever had a hurt, habit or a hang-up that you would like to change in your life, but couldn’t, then Celebrate Recovery is the place for you. We all have problems, and regardless of the problem(s) you are facing: financial, emotional, spiritual, marital, relational, or chemical, the 12 steps to recovery are always the same, no matter what you struggle with. These principles have worked in thousands of lives and can work in yours as well, if you want to change. The Apostle Paul said in Romans 7:18 “I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.”

Newcomers:
Everyone is welcome on any Wednesday night. No registration or sign-up is required. Be our guest as dinner is on us. Dinner is from 6-7pm. We have “large group” from 7-8pm where we sing a few songs, read the 12 steps or 8 principles, and a lesson is taught, a testimony is given or the last Wednesday of each month we give out chips for those who have been in recovery for a period of months and years. We conclude large group by saying the serenity prayer. If this is your first night to Celebrate Recovery, you are invited to stay in the large group meeting area and leaders will meet with you to present “CR 101”. CR 101 will allow you to hear stories of recovery, explain in detail how the program works and answer any questions you may have. After CR101, we invite you to join us for fellowship and refreshments at Solid Rock Café, where you can meet a Sponsor or Accountability Partner.

Is Celebrate Recovery confidential?
Yes, Celebrate Recovery maintains strict confidentiality. This promotes an atmosphere of trust and enables recovery. We have a saying that is repeated in every Large Group meeting :
WHO you see here.
WHAT you hear here.
WHEN you leave here.
STAYS HERE.
Hear! Hear!
We are diligent about confidentiality and anonymity. The guidelines/rules protect all of us from judgment and being “fixed”. In a “safe place” you can take off your “mask” and be real and honest without fear. You are 100% in control of when and how much you participate.

What is Recovery?
In physical health, recovery refers to the process of moving from illness to wellness. Our hurts, habits and hang-ups are like an illness and using the tools of Celebrate Recovery we begin to move toward wholeness. Some might say from bondage to freedom in Christ. Others might say from self-reliance to faith in Christ.

What is Celebrate Recovery?
Lives are changing! Over 700,000 people have gone through the Celebrate Recovery program in more than 17,000 churches worldwide. Celebrate Recovery is a proven, Christ-centered, Bible-based, 12-Step program designed to help those struggling with hurts, habits, and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through the recovery process.

How does it work?
Celebrate Recovery uses the Twelve Steps and its related Scripture as the biblical model for living your life. A Step Study is a personal journey though each of these steps in a confidential group lead by two leaders who have completed a study. We use Celebrate Recovery's four participants books. When you finish the study you will have worked your hurts, habits, and hang-ups through each step. A Step Study is a long-term commitment to the members of the group and is a closed group of just the individuals who start the study together. It will typically take 12 months to complete the study. After completing the Step Study, we hope you will join with us as we minister to others dealing with their hurts, habits and hang-ups. We do have guidelines for the groups that are strictly followed.

Who leads CR?
Celebrate Recovery is conducted by Christians who have been through 12-step recovery themselves. They understand. Many have been dealt tragic blows in their lives. Our choices cause painful and lingering consequences, leading to guilt, remorse, grief, and shame. These individuals can truly understand and lead others.

Does it cost anything to attend?
Celebrate Recovery does not charge for this ministry. We are an all volunteer, self-funded ministry as we take up an offering each week.

What is the difference between AA and Celebrate Recovery?
The principle difference between AA (and other Twelve Step programs) and Celebrate Recovery is that Celebrate Recovery focuses on Jesus Christ as the true Higher Power, uses God's Word as the authority in relation to the Twelve Steps, and there is a large group praise and worship time. In order to reach people who would be offended by Jesus or the church, AA focused on a Higher Power. But Celebrate Recovery's 8 Principles to the Road to Recovery tie the Twelve Steps to Jesus Christ's teachings known as the Beatitudes given in The Sermon on the Mount.

What if I can't make it every week?
You are welcome to come when you can for worship, large group and issue groups. However, if you join a Step Study, you are expected to come each week until you complete it. As with any endeavor, the more effort you put into Celebrate Recovery, the more benefit you will gain.

Who can attend?
Any person at least 18 years of age. Childcare for 2-teens is available from 6:45 – 9:30pm and costs $1 per child. Celebrate Recovery is a ministry for anyone who is interested in a Christ centered recovery program that will enable them to recover from life’s hurts, hang-ups habits and addictions. There are attendees who are not members and/or do not attend Perimeter Church.

Childcare is available for ages 2-12 for $1/child.
Celebrate Recovery has recently adopted a new curriculum for the children of CR. Each week the children are taught a biblical lesson that mirrors the recovery principles found in the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-10). So when Mom and Dad are discussing a specific topic the children are learning the same verses and lessons on an age appropriate level! The lesson is taught using games, crafts, skits, journaling, and open discussion. Childcare is open to children ages two to twelve. Childcare is available from 6:45pm – 9:30pm.

Do I have to share?
In the Open Share Groups, absolutely not . . . until you are ready. You can pass anytime you wish and for as long as it takes for you to become comfortable. In the Step Studies everyone is required to share as the questions are answered.

Small Group Guidelines:
1. Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. Please limit your sharing to 3-5 minutes.
2. There will be no cross talk please. Cross talk is when 2 individuals engage in dialog, excluding all others. Each person is free to express feelings without interruption.
3. We are here to support one another. We will not attempt to "fix" another.
4. Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group!
5. Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered group.
