Meet Dr. Norman

After a successful career in Chemistry researching in RadioNuclear Pharmocology at Duke University Medical Center, Dr. Joseph A Norman obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. Following graduation on the guidance of his mentors , Dr. Norman completed Advance Training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center: John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas and Oklahoma University Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Although his training in General Anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesia at John Peter Smith Hospital, he focuses in providing Intravenous, Subcutaneous, Oral and Intramuscular Moderate to Minimal Conscious Sedation Techniques based on the guidelines from the American Dental Society of Anesthesia. In his practice, he provides the following procedures under Moderate to Minimal Sedation: Comprehensive Rehabilitation/Cosmetic Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry, Endodontic Surgery, Third Molar Surgery, and Implantology. He is a fellow in International Congress of Implantology and working on completing his fellowship in American Academia of General Dentistry and American Academia of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Prior to joining iCare Dental, Dr. Norman's work experience providing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and general dentistry in emergency dental clinics and private offices located in the Greater Harris County and Houston, Texas.

Dr. Norman is the proud recipient of the UNC SOD Dental Research Fellowship-2006, NC AADR Distinguished Service Award - 2006 and Ronald P. Strauss Community and International Health Award -2005.

Dr. Norman has provided volunteer dentisty for Mission of Mercy throughout the state of North Carolina, and participated in mission trips to Malawi Africa, and provided dentistry in Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina.

Dr. Norman enjoys spending free time with his three dogs, two daughters and lovely wife, whom advocates dentistry and plans on joining the profession as a future hygienist. He also spends time enjoying golf, sport shooting, and listening to most genre of live music.
