More about Center Church

If you are looking for a church, one that is plain and simple, one that is just a country church attempting to follow what the Holy Bible commands us to do, then Center Church is just for you. Our address is 834 County Road 196 Danville, AL 35619, and we hold services every 2nd and 4th Sunday at 5:00 PM. Upon visiting Center Church, you will notice a few differences compared to other churches, both Baptist and of other denominations.

1: You will never see an offering plate passed around, but if you feel led to give then there is a box to leave your donations in.

2: The preacher does not accept a salary, and therefore any donations go to keep the lights on, make repairs to the building, or go to support those who are in need.

3: There isn't any separate services for kids. This is what some people call "family integrated worship." Your kids are welcome to attend the service, sing along, and worship God with you as a family.

4: There is no set agenda at Center Baptist Church. Most services include a lot of singing, people giving their testimonies of how God has blessed them, prayer requests, prayer, and preaching whatever the Lord has given the preacher to preach on. Afterwards there is an invitation given for those who feel led to pray, or feel like God is drawing them to salvation through Jesus Christ, or upon profession of faith feel led to join the church. The reason why there is no set agenda is because when man sets out a rigid plan in the church, it interferes with the Holy Spirit. If you feel led to testify during a song, then do so. If you feel like you need to go to the altar in the middle of the singing or preaching, then by all means do business with the Lord.

5: As of now there isn't a huge crowd, and since this church is new (newly reorganized) there is always room to grow. The church is still getting organized so even though the building at Center has been there for generations the Church which is meeting there is new. We had our first service on October 11, 2015.

6: It is like stepping back in time when you visit Center. We still have an outhouse, an outdoor fellowship hall, and we do have electricity. In the future we hope to build a bathroom with modern plumbing for convenience, though.
If you are looking for a place to get involved then consider Center Church.

Articles of Faith

Article 1. We believe in only one and true living God, the Creator and Preserver of all things, and that there is a trinity of persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and these are one. (1 John 5:7, John 1:1,14 and 4:24)

Article 2. We believe and receive the Original King James Version of the Old and New Testament as the revealed Word of God, and that they contain the only safe rule of faith and practice. (II Peter 1:21, II Timothy 3:16)

Article 3. We believe in the total and universal depravity of the human family. In other words, we cannot save ourselves from hell. Rather, when the Lord convicts you of your sins and shows you you're lost then you have an opportunity to get saved! (Romans 4:16, 5:12, John 6:44)

Article 4. We believe in the free atonement of Jesus Christ, that He tasted death for every person and that salvation is offered to all upon terms of the Gospel (Hebrews 2:9, John 3:16, I John 2:2)

Article 5. We believe that the sinners are justified in the sight of God, by the righteousness of Christ imputed to them. (Romans 4:5 and 5:1, and Galatians 2:16)

Article 6. We believe in the preservation of saints in grace, and those truly saved will never fall finally away. (John 10:27-28, and Romans 8:35-39)

Article 7. We believe that good works are the effect of faith and follow after justification and that they justify us in the sight of men and are evidences of a gracious state. (Ephesians 2:10, James 2:14-26)

Article 8. We believe there will be a resurrection from the dead and a general judgement, and that the happiness of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked will be eternal. (John 5:28-29, Matthew 25:31-46, I Corinthians 15:49-54)

Article 9. We believe that Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances of Jesus Christ and that true believers are the only proper subjects, and that baptism is immersion in water. (Matthew 3:7, Matthew 8:13-17, and Matthew 26:26-28, Acts 8:35-38)

Article 10. We believe that washing of the saint’s feet was ordained by Christ to be done by His people until His second coming. (John 13:4-17, I Timothy 5:10)
