Each year medical and scientific advances offer new opportunities for the improvement of health for all Americans. Yet a disproportionate burden of diseases such as diabetes, stroke, cancer, and HIV/AIDS, continues among minority and medically underserved populations. The CHDMM supports innovative research to address health disparities in USA and globally. Current projects at the center study the role of biological, environmental, socioeconomic, or cultural factors in health disparities. The CHDMM also supports initiatives in student training and community partnerships to achieve our mission.
