Certified Sounds

Certified Sounds LLC was founded by owner Derek Pace in 2000. Before opening the company, Derek was employed with Sears as a sales associate in the electronics department for 5 yrs with additional responsibilities of maintaining and updating all the home theatre displays. In 2000 Derek attended an industry training school in Long Beach, California called Installer Institute. During his comprehensive 5 week schooling program he acquired additional key knowledge about the fabrication and electrical aspects of installing consumer electronic products in vehicles and residential applications.

Facility and Tooling
Certified Sounds is housed in a 2550 ft3 facility based in Wailuku on the island of Maui. The facility is company owned and outfitted to accommodate a wide range of services on vehicles as well as housing a showroom, administrative offices, and inventory. In addition to all of the common hand and power tools one would expect in a professional installation facility, some of the notable specialty tooling in the facility includes:

Continuing Education, Training, and Certification
The staff of Certified Sounds regularly travels to the US Mainland to attend industry specific trade shows, events, and training programs including those based around emerging technologies related to car and home electronics. All staff members of Certified Sounds are Mobile Electronic Certified Professional (MECP) certified and the owner, Derek Pace, is Hawaii’s only MECP certified Master Level Technician. To put that into perspective, there are just over 100 MECP Master Technicians in the entire US and it’s a credential very few professionals in the field achieve. Our primary objectives are to provide exceptional customer experiences to both retail and business to business (B2B) clients through unequalled technical knowledge and superior installation practices whether in vehicles or homes.

Key Business to Business (B2B) Services
Certified Sounds offers a number of B2B services for business partners to comfortably and profitably outsource certain aspects of their client needs. These services have both the business partner and end user in mind with a seamless transition, professional work ethic, and attention to detail that maximizes the comfort level of all parties.

Scheduling and Availability Policy
At Certified Sounds, we make every effort to accommodate our business to business customers with a flexible scheduling policy and availability to come to your location when situations require. In general, one business day’s notice for off site work is preferred. In some cases we may be able to visit you the same day as requested. For work scheduled at our location, we will provide our business customers the next business day scheduling provided any parts or special order items are in stock. If not, the scheduling will immediately be available when the parts or special order items arrive. It’s our general policy to try and have the least amount of inconvenience for you or the end user.

Terms and Conditions
Certified Sounds LLC extends up to Net 30 day terms to qualifying B2B clients upon issue of a valid company purchase order and when Certified Sounds has approved vendor status with the client. All conditions of this payment arrangement are contingent upon the account being current within a 30 day window of payments due. Any overdue accounts will be COD until the account is brought current.

B2B and Government Clients
• Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) – Outfitted the Department’s ATV’S with lights and 2-way radios. Certified Sounds also does repair work for any current DLNR fleet vehicles.
• Maui Sheriff Department – Certified Sounds has a state issued vendor number and does repair work for Sherriff Department vehicles on an on-going basis. Often this work is based around lighting systems and communication systems involving antennas, transceivers, and stable power supply connections.
• Maui Laminates – Certified Sounds supplies many services to the company’s fleet of delivery vehicles as well as many of the company employees including window tint, installation of security systems and remote starters, and GPS tracing systems for company fleet vehicles.
• Oceanic Time Warner – Certified Sounds installs security systems on all Fleet vehicles and Bin vehicles.
