The Immediate Release Technique (known to some as "tapping") was designed to assist in alleviating the suffering associated with both chronic and acute negative emotional thought processes. IRT provides the individual with a drug free technique for the rapid release of panic and other negative emotions while assisting with pain control quickly and safely. It desensitizes eye movement and teaches a cognitive reframing process known as Skills for Life. It has proven itself a highly effective tool for resolution and prevention of emotional crisis as well as pain management. IRT actually integrates key components of three known therapies:

Rapid Eye Movement (from the Rapid Eye Technology model)
Acupressure Technique (from Polarity Therapy) and
Repetitive Focusing (from Gestalt Psychotherapy)
IRT practitioners are guides to their clients in helping them find what they would like to release. The release can be as simple as a stress relief session or it can be a deep emotional release of present and past issues such as trauma, abuse, or self sabotage.
