CHAL CHILLI: A unique South Asian -- Thai Fusion Restaurant in the heart of Curry Hill takes on the unique challenge of bringing two ancient and complex cuisines to New York City in a new and inventive way.

Over the past few decades, developing independently, both South Asian and Thai restaurants have staked out a brave and assertive place in the pantheon of New York cuisine. Conversations about curries and spices, leaves and ancient herbs, in all their colorful and vibrant variations, flow casually across the tables. Chal Chilli represents not only the hard-earned combination, but also the boldness of innovation.

To complete her vision, Ayesha Kiani consulted with Fatima Ali—a winner of Chopped on Food Network. Fatima advised on staying true to the South Asian heritage, with adding just the right amount of Thai fusion. To aim for greater authenticity, all the food is halal.

Being opened for only six months, Chal Chilli has been fortunate enough to be selected to participate in New York City Wine and Food Festival Grand Tasting events on October 19th and October 20th. Moreover, it has been creating buzz in the cyber world with reputable chefs like Bobby Flay, David Burke and Robert Irvine.
